Operations Specialist

Duties

• Serve as the lead Operations officer, responsible to plan and execute medical operations for the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) areas of responsibility.
• Responsible for the overall operations of Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) functions to include coordination with both active and reserve components.
• Prepare, coordinate, execute, and review plans for emergency management operations, including the MTF Emergency Operations Plan (EOP).
• Provide daily oversight of personnel assigned to support Plans, training, mobilization and security operations division programs and activities.
• Serve as the MTF Liaison Officer (LNO) to all tenant units and agencies. Represent the MTF at all planning meetings, committees and Command updates with supported units.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
• This position may be designated "Mission Essential." In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• This position may be required to work uncommon tours of duty hours such as, on-call, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning and executing medical readiness operations; participating in emergency operations planning, exercises, and crisis response within a healthcare facility; and monitoring operational taskers and staff workflows.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the lower grade/level in the federal service (GS-11).
