Senior Software Developer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to join a collaborative development team building a new application that leverages Large Language Models (LLMs) to transform data and access policies from multiple sources and formats into a standardized format for compliance assessment.

The Developer will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, developers, and other technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. This role involves analyzing complex software systems and designing applications with a strong focus on scalability, testability, performance, and maintainability.

The team operates within a Scrum/Agile framework, delivering incremental enhancements on two-week sprint cycles. Developers actively participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, technical design, development, testing, and production support.

What will you do?

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Java and/or Python.
• Develop applications that integrate with Large Language Model (LLM) APIs.
• Build solutions that transform data and access policies from multiple sources and formats into standardized formats for compliance assessment.
• Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs.
• Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Analyze and decompose complex software systems into maintainable components and services.
• Define system architectures and contribute to the technical design of new application features.
• Design solutions with scalability, performance, testability, and maintainability in mind.
• Develop custom scripts to install, configure, and deploy application code to AWS EC2 instances.
• Leverage Amazon Web Services (AWS) to develop and operate cloud-based applications.
• Utilize development and DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Rundeck.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and application performance improvements.
• Work within a Scrum/Agile development environment and deliver functionality through two-week sprint cycles.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, estimation, and other Agile ceremonies.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, developers, and cross-functional technical teams.
• Participate in the team's O&M rotation and provide after-hours production support when scheduled.

Do you have what it takes?

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 6-10 years of relevant software development experience.
• Strong software development experience with Java and/or Python.
• Experience developing applications that leverage Large Language Model (LLM) APIs.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience deploying, installing, or configuring applications within AWS EC2 environments.
• Ability to develop custom scripts for application installation, configuration, and deployment.
• Experience defining system architecture and designing new application features.
• Strong understanding of scalable and maintainable software design principles.
• Experience working within a Scrum/Agile development environment.
• Experience with source control and DevOps tools such as:

  • Rundeck
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability and willingness to participate in an after-hours O&M/on-call rotation approximately one week every three months.
