LMS Administrator & QA Tester

Job Description
Everforth ECS is seeking an LMS Administrator & QA Tester to work in Arlington, VA (Hybrid) .

The LMS Administrator & QA Tester will support the administration of the Cyber Range Learning Management System (customized Moodle) and perform quality assurance testing focused on learner experience, course functionality, and user access for the CISA Capacity Building Cyber Training branch. Working collaboratively with cloud engineers, ATO specialists, technical writers, and the team lead, the ideal candidate will ensure reliable course delivery and seamless user experience for a 24/7 CISA AWS (CAWS)-hosted training environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Administer RLMS (Moodle platform), including user/role/enrollment management, course configuration, and platform customization to support cybersecurity training delivery with 24/7 remote access.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to upload and integrate course content, virtual lab images, and training materials, validating learner-facing functionality prior to launch.
• Perform comprehensive QA testing on LMS functionality (course navigation, content display, assessments, dashboards, instructor tools, UI elements) across devices and browsers to ensure consistent learner experience.
• Validate course content functionality including multimedia, embedded resources, quizzes, forums, assignments, and virtual lab integrations from the student perspective.
• Conduct accessibility testing for Section 508/WCAG 2.1 compliance, verifying screen reader compatibility, keyboard navigation, and accessible design across all learner-facing content and interfaces.
• Test user authentication, SSO integration, enrollment workflows, and access controls; troubleshoot LMS issues and resolve student/instructor technical problems.
• Perform user acceptance testing (UAT), gathering feedback on usability and platform functionality; document enhancement requests and defects.
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test scripts, and QA documentation for LMS functionality, course releases, and user workflows.
• Monitor course completion rates and student progress, identifying platform-related barriers to learner success and collaborating with instructors and content developers on improvements.
• Support phased contractor transition (target: March 2027), documenting LMS configuration, customizations, administrative processes, and user management workflows.
• Assist with ongoing ATO maintenance by supporting evidence collection for user access controls, authentication mechanisms, and LMS security configurations.
• Collaborate with technical writer to ensure documentation (user guides, student/instructor manuals, troubleshooting resources) accurately reflects LMS functionality.
• Optimize LMS for usability, accessibility, and scalability to support enrollment growth while maintaining high-quality learner experiences.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000

Required Skills

• US citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Suitability
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, and collaborative teamwork skills
• 3+ years LMS administration experience, preferably Moodle or similar open-source platforms
• 2+ years QA testing experience focused on web applications, user interfaces, and end-user experience
• Proficiency in LMS administration (user management, enrollment, course configuration, role/permission assignment, plugin management, customization)
• Experience conducting functional, usability, and user acceptance testing focused on learner experience and course delivery
• Strong understanding of online learning environments, course navigation, and student engagement tools
• Experience coordinating with vendors and content developers to integrate materials and resolve usability issues
• Working knowledge of virtual lab environments and hands-on technical training platforms
• Experience creating/executing test plans, test cases, and scripts; documenting defects and results
• Proficiency with Section 508/WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and testing tools (screen readers, keyboard navigation, color contrast checkers)
• Ability to troubleshoot LMS functionality, user access, content delivery, and student-facing features
• Experience supporting 24/7 platforms with diverse remote user populations across multiple time zones
• Detail-oriented, quality-focused, flexible, and adaptable in evolving environments with competing priorities

Desired Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, or related field
• Moodle Certified Administrator, ISTQB, or other LMS/testing certifications
• Experience with cyber range platforms, cybersecurity training environments, or multiple LMS platforms (Canvas, Blackboard, D2L)
• Knowledge of e-learning standards (SCORM, xAPI), instructional design principles, and adult learning theory
• Experience with cross-browser/cross-device testing, platform transitions, or contractor hand-offs
• Understanding of authentication systems (SSO, SAML, LDAP), learning analytics, and student success metrics
• Familiarity with video conferencing integrations (Zoom, Teams, WebEx) and discussion forum moderation
