Senior Salesforce Developer

COLSA is seeking a Senior Salesforce Developer to support NASA's Consolidated Applications and Platform Services (NCAPS) contract, specifically supporting the NASA STEM Gateway, a Salesforce-based platform used by NASA's Office of STEM Engagement (OSTEM). You will lead complex design and development efforts, own end-to-end feature delivery across agile sprints, and help ensure the solution meets federal IT security and accessibility requirements. This is a fully remote position open to candidates residing in the United States, excluding the following states: AR, CT, DE, HI, IA, KS, MT, NE, NJ, NY, RI, SD, VT, WV, and WY.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

• Design, develop, and maintain Salesforce features with a focus on NASA internships capabilities and functionality and an integration or in-house solution to host user surveys/feedback.
• Implement high-quality UI and UX and timely bug/incident remediation.
• Deliver committed user stories and/or bug fixes at the end of each 2-week sprint including successful migration from Dev to Test environment with resolution of any bugs.
• Document changes and updated flows/components in each user story.
• Resolve security or other vulnerability flags during SonarQube audits/scans.
• Serve as a technical contributor to data management activities: data stewardship on the Agency's NASA Central Org in Salesforce, data migration, data correction, validity checks, and maintaining configuration diagrams, documentation, and data dictionary updates.
• Create and run test classes/coverage and manage code/config via the NASA-approved DevOps pipeline (Jira and GitLab).
• Execute agile delivery practices: conduct Story Grooming, host Sprint Demos, attend Discovery/Solutioning sessions, and other relevant meetings and sprint ceremonies.
• Adhere to the Release/Governance Team's [Salesforce NASA Application Platform (SNAP)] security, architecture, change management, coding, and configuration policies for all deployments.
• Partner with analytics teams to support CRM Analytics dashboards and reporting.
• Contribute to enterprise user support activities: monitor help requests across channels, provide known solutions, and support UAT and training needs as needed.
• Participate in governance and operations meetings, align to NASA sprint and release schedules, and ensure major deliverables are peer reviewed.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 8 years related experience
• Extensive Salesforce development experience building secure, scalable solutions on Service Cloud and Experience Cloud for large internal and external user bases
• Advanced proficiency in Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL/SOSL, Flows, Integration Patterns (REST, SOAP), and authentication standards (OAuth, SAML)
• Hands‑on experience with DevOps tooling including Jira work management and GitLab pipelines
• Demonstrated ability to operate within federal IT environments
• Proven success collaborating within agile teams and across stakeholder groups to translate requirements into high‑quality features, tests, and documentation
• Must be willing to undergo a background investigation for a position of NASA Public Trust; US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as Salesforce Platform Developer I/II, Administrator, Experience Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, Data Architect, or CRM Analytics
• Experience with Agentforce AI Agents and LMS integrations with Instructure Canvas
• Prior experience supporting federal or NASA programs
• Working knowledge of identity and email security integrations relevant to Salesforce and NASA, including IDMAX and DKIM
• Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe) knowledge and experience.
