Senior Cloud Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to support a company focused on federal modernization, cloud transformation, and mission-critical technology initiatives. This position is on-site in Huntsville, AL. The Senior Cloud Engineer will design, deploy, optimize, and sustain secure cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise applications, data platforms, and DevSecOps operations. This is an opportunity to play a key role in modernizing critical government systems while ensuring scalable, resilient, and secure cloud environments supporting high-impact national missions.

Responsibilities for the Senior Cloud Engineer include:

• Design, build, and optimize cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise applications, data workloads, and modernization initiatives
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar automation tools
• Support CI/CD pipeline integration, cloud automation, monitoring, logging, and observability initiatives
• Implement and maintain cloud security controls including IAM, encryption, network segmentation, compliance, and vulnerability remediation
• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues while collaborating with engineering, migration, testing, and operations teams

Required Qualifications for the Senior Cloud Engineer include:

• 8+ years of experience with cloud engineering, cloud operations, or infrastructure engineering
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including compute, storage, networking, security, and automation
• Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, cloud networking, troubleshooting, and technical documentation
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship required
