Senior ISSO

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Cyber Security / Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support a company focused on federal modernization initiatives and the protection of mission-critical information systems. This position is on-site . The Senior ISSO will provide security oversight, compliance monitoring, risk management, and security advisory support across complex enterprise environments, ensuring systems remain compliant with federal cybersecurity requirements and accreditation standards. Responsibilities for the Senior Cyber Security / Information System Security Officer (ISSO) include:

• Lead cybersecurity governance efforts, ensuring compliance with federal security frameworks, policies, and standards
• Maintain security documentation including System Security Plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, control evidence, and audit artifacts
• Conduct continuous monitoring activities, vulnerability assessments, remediation tracking, and security reporting
• Partner with engineering, cloud, DevSecOps, QA, and operations teams to implement security best practices throughout the system lifecycle
• Support accreditation activities, incident response efforts, risk management initiatives, and leadership reporting on security posture

Required Qualifications for the Senior Cyber Security / Information System Security Officer (ISSO) include:

• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, ISSO support, information assurance, or security engineering
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools, security control validation, system hardening, identity and access management, logging, and auditing
• Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks, compliance requirements, risk management practices, and continuous monitoring programs
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting federal modernization, defense, or national security programs
• Familiarity with AWS cloud environments
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipeline security, and automated security scanning
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, or equivalent

Compensation for the Senior Cyber Security / Information System Security Officer (ISSO) include:

Salary Range: Competitive salary depending on experience
