Training Instructor

Duties

• Serves as a principal source of technical information on which course development actions are based.
• Develops and delivers content in a variety of topics with the goal of transitioning sustainment capabilities to Allied Partners.
• Responsible for both pre-instructional and instructional actions including overall maintenance and improvement of assigned course areas of advanced wheel vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Develops Program of Instruction to including job and task foundational learning objectives, classroom and on the job training objectives, practical exercises, and student handouts
• Requires a thorough specialized technical knowledge of wheel vehicle maintenance, diagnostics and repair of wheel vehicle automotive systems, subsystems and components at field/sustainment levels of maintenance and repair.
• Training may be delivered to U.S. or Foreign Military Sales Students.
• Understands cultural differences and adapts training material to meet the needs of the students.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent to travel in a temporary duty status up to 50% of the time.

• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position requires an Official and/or Diplomatic Passport with no travel restrictions, or incumbent must be able to obtain a passport with no travel restrictions.
• Must be able to pass an appropriate physical examination in accordance with the Foreign Clearance Guide.
• Possessing a valid state vehicle operator's license in CONUS.
• Obtaining and retaining a valid vehicle operator's license as required by the OCONUS Country of assignment.
• Must be willing to sign a mobility agreement.
• May be required to walk long distances, climb stairs, and carry files and documents weighing up to 10 pounds.
• Must be able to possess and maintain a Government Credit Card.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes Assisting in course development. Developing technical training materials. Delivering instructional content. Preparing lesson materials for use in instructor-led training. Applying basic technical knowledge of automotive or wheel-vehicle systems. Maintaining training publication files according to established procedures. Reviewing student feedback. Evaluating data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
