Enterprise Systems Performance Engineer
Onsite Annapolis Junction, MD | US Citizenship Required | Travel (less than 10%)

Responsibilities
As an Enterprise Systems Performance Engineer, you will design, build, and scale the telemetry, operational analytics, and automated response capabilities that safeguard system health across a hybrid enterprise footprint. Moving beyond reactive event monitoring, this position focuses on engineering proactive observability frameworks and automated self-healing mechanisms across on-premises platforms and Microsoft Azure cloud environments. Utilizing enterprise tools such as Tanium, 1E, and Splunk, you will architect data pipelines to transform raw telemetry into real-time performance insights, establish dynamic behavior baselines, and engineer automated remediation scripts that resolve issues before they impact end-user productivity. Collaborating across cloud, network, and security domains, you will bridge platform silos to build a unified, high-reliability operational intelligence ecosystem.
Requirements
-Proven experience engineering or administering enterprise monitoring, endpoint telemetry, or infrastructure management platforms.
-Hands-on experience with tools such as Tanium, 1E, Splunk, Microsoft Intune, MECM/SCCM, or ServiceNow.
-Demonstrated ability to engineer operational dashboards, dynamic alert logic, performance metrics, and system reports.
-Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or related scripting languages to automate operational tasks and data workflows.
-Sound understanding of enterprise Windows OS internals, client architectures, and system dependencies.
-Strong grasp of platform health indicators, including system throughput, resource capacity, and availability metrics.
-Advanced troubleshooting skills to isolate performance bottlenecks and resolve systemic operational issues.
-Talent for converting complex operational pain points into scalable, automated technical solutions.
-Ability to prioritize competing engineering initiatives and execute independently in a high-velocity environment.
Preferred Qualifications
-Direct experience configuring Tanium core modules, platform integrations, and automated actions.
-Hands-on exposure to 1E or similar Digital Employee Experience (DEX) monitoring tools.
-Skill in Splunk platform administration, SPL query design, log ingestion, and correlation rules.
-Ability to connect enterprise platforms via REST APIs, webhooks, and automated workflows (e.g., ServiceNow).
-Experience extending telemetry and observability models across Microsoft Azure and hybrid infrastructures.
-Track record of engineering proactive, automated remediation scripts to fix system issues autonomously.
-Capability to build high-level performance metrics, operational KPIs, and health dashboards.
-Familiarity with automated patch management, vulnerability remediation, and security baseline auditing.
Education/Certification Requirements
-Level II 8570 Certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)
