Senior Applications Developer/Engineer

Location: Germantown, MD

Description: On-site in either Germantown, MD or Lemont, IL or Oak Ridge, TN Our client seeks a Senior Applications Developer/Engineer to lead Atlassian-centric development initiatives. This role involves designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-level applications using Atlassian tools and technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable applications using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and formulation
• Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development
• Proven experience with Atlassian development tools and frameworks
• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or equivalent programming languages
• Experience with database systems (SQL, NoSQL)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies
