Senior Business Systems Engineer - 175109

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Business Systems Engineer to join an innovative organization in the biotechnology and agriculture industry who can work in a hybrid setting in Durham, NC. The ideal Senior Business Systems Engineer will serve as a strategic partner between business and technology teams, leveraging ERP expertise and a solution-oriented mindset to identify operational challenges, optimize business processes, and implement scalable solutions that align technical capabilities with business objectives across Finance, Supply Chain, HR, R&D, and other functional areas.

Responsibilities of the Senior Business Systems Engineer:

• Partner with business stakeholders across Finance, Supply Chain, HR, R&D, and other departments to identify operational challenges and technology needs.
• Analyze existing business processes and workflows to uncover inefficiencies and recommend scalable improvements.
• Translate business requirements into system solutions that align with organizational goals and technology strategy.
• Serve as a trusted advisor between business teams and technical resources, facilitating effective communication and decision-making.
• Evaluate and optimize ERP systems, with a focus on maximizing existing platform capabilities rather than extensive customization.
• Lead business systems initiatives from requirements gathering through implementation and user adoption.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize projects and drive successful outcomes.
• Support system integrations, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives across enterprise applications.
• Assess emerging technologies, including AI-driven solutions, and recommend opportunities for business process optimization.
• Contribute to the future-state roadmap for enterprise systems and operational excellence.

Qualifications of the Senior Business Systems Engineer:

• 3-5 years of experience in Business Systems, Software Engineering, Systems Analysis, ERP Administration, or a related field.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
• Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite or other major ERP platforms
• Proven ability to partner with business leaders and stakeholders across multiple functional areas.
• Strong understanding of business process analysis, workflow optimization, and enterprise systems strategy.
• Background in software engineering or technical development with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Experience gathering requirements, evaluating solutions, and driving implementation efforts.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented and outcome-focused mindset.
• Experience with Python and/or React is preferred.
• Exposure to AWS cloud services is a plus.
• Experience evaluating or implementing AI tools and business automation solutions is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Compensation for the Senior Business Systems Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $110,000 - $145,000 base salary (depending on experience)
