Job Description
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Technical Writer to join our team in Chesapeake, VA. This position is onsite.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Research, analyze, and verify technical data to bring manuals to required standards ensuring accuracy of information
- Communicate with appropriate departments and coordinate production and distribution of materials
- Conduct parts research for mechanical and electrical systems and equipment
- Interface with customer personnel, vendors, and military personnel
- Revise or write standardized material for manuals, instruction books and related technical publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance of machinery and other equipment
- Receive technical direction from supervisor or senior writer, notes, manuals containing operating procedures, detailed manufacturer's catalogs, drawings and other data related to operation, maintenance, and service of equipment
- Access to blueprints, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail
- Must be able to travel occasionally
Minimum Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED
- 4+ years of technical writer experience
- Knowledge or understanding in mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering
- Experience in the development of technical documents and manuals to specified military standards
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, specifically MSWord
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Arbortext 8.3 and above.
- Understanding of SGML
- Knowledge of the military, commercial and recreational marine industry in boats under 200 feet
- Working knowledge of Google Office Products
- Experience in Quality Assurance of technical documentation
Clearance Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship required and an active Secret security clearance
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit at a desk or workstation for extended periods while working on a computer
- Perform equipment validations on boats either on trailers or in the water.
- Ability to transport and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to climb up to three (3) flights of stairs.
- Crawling and maneuvering in confined spaces or bilge areas, if required
