Position Summary

We are dedicated to delivering innovative solutions to our clients and are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineering to join our dynamic team. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about new concepts and technology, innovative with emerging technology, and passionate about delivery customer solutions.

The selected candidate will fill an immediate opening supporting our government customer on-site at Fort Belvoir, VA. Occasional telework will occur only after coordination with the government customer and senior corporate site lead.

This is an exciting opportunity for a successful applicant to develop new software products or major enhancements to existing software for our customers at the Army's DEVCOM C5ISR Research Technology Integration Directorate. The role will require creativity and flexibility of software programming initiatives to support innovation and enhancement requirements of the larger program objectives with sometimes limited access to AI or internet in the deployed environment. In this role, the candidate must be able to analyze user needs, conceptualize solutions, determine feasibility of design, and know how to apply new technologies to allow for improvement to existing or development of new critical software applications within our client organization.

What You'll Do

• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Works with minimal guidance to design, develop, and employ R&D (Research & Development) and/or prototype scientific & engineering software.
  • Leads the technical software activities throughout the system development Lifecyle, including design, development, peer reviews, testing, issue/defect resolution and documentation.
  • Actively communicate with stakeholders, e.g. Project Engineer, Program manager, other engineers on the team.
  • Assist the perception team in meeting research goals with solutions and scope.
  • Design, develop, test, and employ research & development (R&D) and prototype new concepts with scientific / engineering software for cloud, Linux and Windows platforms
  • Support the integration and testing activities of new technologies, technical solutions, and developed capabilities
  • Collaborate with and across teams the planning, coordination, execution and documentation of system, software, and field testing
  • Effectively communicate project status to include development, test, and risk, to higher level leadership
  • Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies
  • Own software solutions where access to internet and AI may be limited
• Travel - up to 25%

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 8-15 years of experience in software development in C++, C, C#, Java, Python for actual programs/projects (not academic).
• Experience taking SysML through to software code (Model Driven Architecture/CodeGeneration).
• Experience translating UML documentation to drive software development
• Strong object-oriented programming skills and demonstrated experience in software engineering best practices.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and debugging skills, including the ability to readily decompose complex problems into smaller, manageable tasks.
• Strong desire for ownership of solutions regardless of development method (AI, traditional, hybrid)
• Experience collaboration software tools and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously as well as with large and small teams of programmers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to include software documentation, user manuals, and release notes.
• US citizenship and an Active Secret security clearance
