Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking an experienced Logistics Engineer to join our Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) team in Colorado Springs, CO. This position supports multiple defense programs involving ground-based radar and optical surveillance systems. The Logistics Engineer will provide broad logistics support across system integration, fielding, sustainment, and lifecycle activities for both fixed and deployable Air Force and Space Force systems operating across domestic and international locations.

This is an experienced professional role requiring proficient knowledge of logistics support processes and practical knowledge of project management. Working under general supervision, the Logistics Engineer may manage projects or processes within the ILS job area, communicate with contacts inside and outside the department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures, and recommend enhancements to logistics systems and processes with moderate impact on departmental results.

Essential Functions:

• Exercise logistics support utilizing standard practices, processes, and logistics databases across multiple defense programs and system types.
• Provide supply support through material research, ordering, warranty tracking, packaging, handling, storing, and transporting.
• Record logistics management information utilizing integrated logistics support software systems.
• Provide analysis using logistics tools and metrics to support program sustainment and performance objectives.
• Assist with equipment maintenance during system downtime periods.
• Provide input for technical orders and drawings and support technical order and drawing development cycle activities.
• Development and management of Deactivated Equipment List (DEL) and execution of material disposition.
• May manage specific logistics projects or processes under general supervision, including delegation and review of work performed by other team members.
• Support engineering teams during upgrade events and lifecycle support logistics analysis across radar and optical system programs.
• Assist with management of repair cycle processes for on-equipment, off-equipment, and associated spares for fielded systems. Responsibilities include:
  • Analyze technical data, failure analysis reports, and original equipment manufacturer notices to determine and formulate recommendations regarding system sparing, repair cycle venues, failure corrective actions, and sustainable replacement items.
  • Receive, track, document, status, and store parts in all phases of the repair cycle.

Qualifications:

• Active Secret security clearance
• Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% (CONUS/OCONUS).

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience and/or familiarity with ground-based optical or radar surveillance systems (as an operator, maintainer, trainer, or as a contractor).
• Develop and maintain Logistics Management Information using MIL-PRF-49506 as guidance.
• Familiar with DoD and commercial logistics tools and databases: FedLog, GIDEP, WebFLIS, FEDLOG, D043, GOLD, as well as various LMI Programs. Knowledge of LMI/LSA data products.
• Working knowledge of acquisition lifecycle processes and product development.
• Familiarity with engineering drawing standards (ASME Y14.100), technical order development, and configuration control practices.
• Familiar with engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM). Understand drawing and specification hierarchy and development.
• Possess technical skills to understand RAM (Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability) and Life Cycle Cost modeling.
• Experience applying ITAR/EAR compliance, export control policies, and maintenance contract management for warranty repairs. Understanding both ITAR and Trade Compliance policies and procedures.
• Familiar with electronic equipment maintenance practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state is $57,000-$106,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
