Data Steward - Junior

What Impact You'll Have

We are seeking a Junior Data Steward to support mission-critical Foundation GEOINT operations by helping ensure geospatial and enterprise data is accurate, organized, and ready for analysis. This is an ideal opportunity for early-career professionals, including those transitioning from military geospatial or intelligence roles, to build hands-on experience in data management while directly supporting intelligence production and modernization efforts.

What You'll Be Owning

Working alongside senior team members, you will help identify and resolve data quality issues, organize and maintain spatial data using tools such as ArcPro, SQL, Excel, and Access, transfer data between formats and networks, and assist with testing scripts and automating routine data tasks. You will also support updates to the requirements database and help train community members on its use, gaining hands-on experience across the full data life cycle.

What You Must Have

• Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI Poly.
• 2 years of relevant experience in data management, GIS, geospatial analysis, or a related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a military or government training course related to GIS, geospatial intelligence, or data management (e.g., military geospatial or GEOINT technical school, or NGA College coursework) is highly valued.
• Basic understanding of GEOINT, including collection, exploitation, analysis, and product delivery.
• Basic understanding of GIS and the georeferencing of information.
• Hands-on experience with ArcPro, Excel, or similar tools for organizing and maintaining data.
• Attention to detail and a strong interest in data quality and accuracy.
• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical team members.
• Ability to learn quickly and work effectively within a collaborative team environment.

What Would Be Nice to Have

• Coursework or an Associate's degree in GIS, Geospatial Sciences, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Military experience in a geospatial, intelligence, or data-related role.
• Exposure to SQL, Oracle, Access, or other database tools.
• Familiarity with data schemas, metadata, or extraction specifications.
• Exposure to enterprise geodatabases, such as Spatial Database Engines (SDEs).
• Exposure to scripting languages, such as Python or R.
• Familiarity with Esri Online, Portal, or Enterprise.
• Familiarity with Tableau.
• GEOINT Professional Certification - Fundamentals (F) or Geospatial Data Management (GDM).
