Sr Dell Server Engineer

Our client, located in Lower Manhattan, NY, NY, is currently in need of a Sr Dell Server Engineer for a 12 month contract. The consultant will work onsite in support of the physical deployment, configuration and support of Dell PowerEdge servers. The environment is moving from legacy HPE servers to 300 new Dell PowerEdge servers. The ideal resident will have a strong PowerEdge infrastructure background combined with solid VMware experience particularly with exposure to migration environments.

Responsibilities:

• Deploy and configure 300 new Dell PowerEdge servers
• Assist with VM migrations from vSphere 7 and Hyper-V to current vSphere environment (another team member to lead)
• Provide infrastructure support, guidance and stability throughout the deployment and migration effort

Required Skills:

• Ability to work onsite daily in NYC
• Ability to pass a government background check which includes fingerprinting and a drug screen (4-6 week process)
• Excellent hands-on experience with Dell PowerEdge servers
• Experience with Dell OpenManage Enterprise, deploy and configure
• Experience with VMware vSphere
• Experience with Linux OS

Desired Skills:

• Experience migrating VMs from legacy HPE environments
