Full-Stack Developer | Contingent | Washington, DC

The Full-Stack Developer will serve as a cross-functional application developer and technical support resource across the NIMS/CMIS environment. This position is designed for a versatile developer who can work across application code, databases, APIs, cloud environments, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support.

The developer will work closely with the Senior ColdFusion/AWS Developer and Senior Oracle/SQL/Data Integration Developer, providing both development capacity and technical redundancy. The position will assist with application enhancements, defect resolution, SQL/database development, system integrations, testing, deployments, documentation, helpdesk escalation, and future NISC V development.

This position is particularly important to the team's continuity model: the developer will gain working knowledge across multiple NIMS/CMIS technical domains so that the team maintains secondary coverage for critical application and database functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise web applications. 
• Support ColdFusion application development and maintenance. 
• Develop and troubleshoot SQL queries and database-driven functionality. 
• Support Oracle database and data-integration activities. 
• Develop and maintain APIs and system interfaces. 
• Assist with AWS-hosted application environments. 
• Troubleshoot application, database, integration, and production issues. 
• Perform bug fixes and implement application enhancements. 
• Conduct unit, integration, regression, and system testing. 
• Assist with user-acceptance testing and defect resolution. 
• Support source control, builds, deployments, releases, and CI/CD activities. 
• Support DevSecOps and vulnerability-remediation activities. 
• Provide Tier 1/Tier 2 technical support and resolve escalated helpdesk issues. 
• Support user account and application-access issues. 
• Assist with financial-data validation and troubleshooting. 
• Develop technical documentation, operating procedures, test documentation, and knowledge articles. 
• Participate in code reviews and peer testing. 
• Cross-train on both application and database functions to provide backup coverage. 
• Participate in Transition-In knowledge transfer and operational-readiness activities. 
• Support future NISC V design, development, testing, integration, and deployment activities. 

The FAA specifically requires first- and second-level helpdesk support covering user activation/deactivation, production issues and financial-data validation, in addition to application O&M responsibilities.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience. 
• 3+ years of professional software-development experience. 
• Experience developing enterprise web applications. 
• Experience with server-side/backend application development. 
• Working knowledge of ColdFusion or demonstrated experience with comparable application-development technologies and ability to learn ColdFusion. 
• Strong SQL skills. 
• Experience with Oracle or another enterprise relational database. 
• Experience developing or consuming APIs. 
• Experience with AWS or comparable cloud environments. 
• Experience with Git or comparable source-control systems. 
• Understanding of CI/CD and modern deployment practices. 
• Experience with software testing and defect resolution. 
• Experience troubleshooting production applications. 
• Ability to work across multiple technologies rather than within a single narrow technical specialty. 
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Adobe ColdFusion experience. 
• Oracle 19c experience. 
• AWS experience or certification. 
• Federal Government application-development experience. 
• Experience with financial or contract-management systems. 
• Experience supporting DevSecOps, cybersecurity remediation, or ATO activities. 
• Experience supporting production helpdesk/service-desk escalations.
