Description
The Senior ColdFusion / AWS Developer will serve as the senior application development and cloud technical lead supporting FAA NIMS/CMIS. The position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, enhancing, securing, and modernizing a mission-supporting enterprise application currently built on Adobe ColdFusion 2018/2023 and hosted within the FAA AWS cloud environment.
This is a hands-on senior engineering position. The developer will analyze an existing enterprise codebase, troubleshoot production issues, develop enhancements, support software and platform upgrades, participate in architecture decisions, integrate applications with external systems, and support cybersecurity and ATO requirements.
The individual will also participate in the design and development of the future NISC V solution, including requirements analysis, architecture, technology evaluation, development, testing, DevSecOps, deployment, and knowledge transfer.
Key Responsibilities
FAA specifically requires application architecture/design, development and bug fixes, enhancements, DR, patching/upgrades, platform administration, cloud management and security vulnerability remediation.

Description
The Senior ColdFusion / AWS Developer will serve as the senior application development and cloud technical lead supporting FAA NIMS/CMIS. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance existing Adobe ColdFusion applications.
- Analyze and become proficient with an established enterprise codebase.
- Diagnose and resolve application defects and production issues.
- Develop new application functionality based on FAA business requirements.
- Perform application architecture and technical design.
- Support ColdFusion and related application/platform upgrades.
- Support applications deployed within AWS environments.
- Develop and maintain APIs and integrations with external systems.
- Work closely with Oracle/SQL developers on database-driven application functionality.
- Perform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing.
- Support development, test, staging, and production environments.
- Participate in configuration management, source control, CI/CD, and release-management processes.
- Support application patching and vulnerability remediation.
- Assist with cybersecurity scans and remediation of application findings.
- Support DevSecOps and secure-development practices.
- Assist with disaster recovery, archiving, backup, and continuity activities.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, architecture documentation, operating procedures, and release documentation.
- Provide Tier 2 technical support for complex NIMS/CMIS incidents.
- Participate in the three-month Transition-In and knowledge transfer from the incumbent contractor.
- Support architecture, technology evaluation, prototyping, and development for the future NISC V system.
FAA specifically requires application architecture/design, development and bug fixes, enhancements, DR, patching/upgrades, platform administration, cloud management and security vulnerability remediation.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on Adobe ColdFusion development experience.
- Strong experience maintaining and modifying existing enterprise applications.
- Experience with ColdFusion 2018, ColdFusion 2023, or comparable modern ColdFusion environments.
- Experience deploying or supporting applications in AWS.
- Strong understanding of web application architecture and relational database applications.
- SQL development experience.
- Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and/or other enterprise integrations.
- Experience troubleshooting production application issues.
- Experience with source control and modern software-development practices.
- Understanding of CI/CD and DevSecOps concepts.
- Experience performing unit, integration, and regression testing.
- Knowledge of secure coding and vulnerability remediation.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Federal Government or FAA application-development experience.
- Oracle Database experience.
- Experience with financial or contract-management applications.
- Experience supporting systems operating under an ATO.
- Experience with FusionCharts or similar visualization/reporting technologies.
- AWS certification.
- Adobe ColdFusion certification or significant demonstrated ColdFusion expertise.
