Logistics Specialist

Under general direction with limited review, this position plans, administers, and continuously improves integrated logistics strategies, processes, and tools. The role ensures customer support requirements and objectives are achieved within budget and on schedule while aligning maintenance execution, aircraft status, and logistics demand across all operating sites. The position coordinates with site maintenance, engineering, field operations, logistics, and customer organizations to support aircraft availability, timely spares fulfillment, accurate demand planning, and effective product support. The role also analyzes operational and supply data, documents findings, communicates recommendations, and develops logistics processes that address business and customer needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plans and administers integrated logistics strategies, processes, tools, and related support activities in accordance with program, customer, and business requirements.
• Ensures customer support requirements and objectives are achieved within established budget, schedule, performance, and contractual parameters.
• Aligns maintenance execution, aircraft status, and logistics demand across all operating sites by reviewing daily status reports and coordinating priorities.
• Supports scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, aircraft modifications, and service bulletin implementation by coordinating required materials, resources, and logistics activities.
• Monitors aircraft reliability, availability, and downtime; evaluates logistics-related impacts and supports corrective actions to improve operational performance.
• Manages and prioritizes Mission Capable Supply (MICAP) requests based on mission impact, operational urgency, aircraft status, and available resources.
• Coordinates with maintenance, engineering, field operations, logistics, and customer teams to ensure timely spares fulfillment, accurate demand planning, and resolution of supply issues.
• Analyzes part usage, demand, aircraft status, and related data to determine warehouse stocking requirements, improve inventory positioning, and support replenishment planning.
• Reviews service bulletins and technical requirements to support part allocation, material planning, supply decisions, and implementation activities.
• Continuously improves standard logistics processes, including supportability analysis planning, logistics database development, product support and replenishment systems, product support data interchange systems, demand management, and related functions.
• Develops and implements logistics processes, tools, and procedures based on customer requirements, business needs, operational demand, and lessons learned.
• Build and maintain customer relationships through logistics initiatives and support activities.
• Integrates knowledge gained from customers, competitors, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to improve logistics capabilities and the Company’s competitive position.
• Identifies logistics issues and develop solutions to complex problems, including resource reallocation, process improvements, and modifications to manufacturing or supply chain activities.
• Documents analyses, findings, recommendations, and results; communicates information to technical staff and management; and delivers presentations as required.
• Participates in planning and review sessions addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, customer support, aircraft status, and logistics requirements.
• Ensures that all applicable laws, regulations, contractual requirements, Company policies, and other obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
• Ensure that work is accomplished safely and in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and six or more years of progressive logistics management experience. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
• Knowledge of integrated logistics, product support, supply chain management, aircraft maintenance support, or related discipline.
• Understanding supportability analysis, demand management, replenishment planning, inventory management, and logistics data systems.
• Ability to analyze aircraft, maintenance, part, inventory, and demand data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Ability to prioritize competing requirements based on mission impact, customer needs, cost, schedule, and operational risk.
• Strong communication, technical writing, presentation, coordination, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work effectively with customers, maintenance personnel, engineers, field operations, logistics organizations, and management.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with limited review and general direction.
• Proficiency with standard business, logistics, and data-analysis tools.
• May lead a team of professional employees on assigned aspects of project(s).
• Able to work extended hours and travel as required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
