Informatica IDMC Data Governance Engineer - REMOTE (1060)

Position Overview

Herdt Consulting is seeking an experienced Informatica IDMC Data Governance Engineer to support a large-scale Workday implementation for a state government client. This role will engineer and configure enterprise data governance capabilities within Informatica IDMC, helping create a governed, searchable, and well-defined data environment across cloud applications, legacy systems, integrations, databases, and downstream consumers. The consultant will translate governance requirements into practical technical configurations and repeatable processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and enhance Informatica Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC) and related IDMC governance capabilities.
• Implement metadata ingestion, cataloging, asset organization, classifications, domains, business glossary structures, and metadata relationships.
• Configure scanners and connectors and support onboarding of enterprise data sources into the governance and catalog environment.
• Translate governance requirements into technical platform configuration, workflows, rules, and repeatable operating processes.
• Support stewardship workflows, ownership, policies, definitions, and data-domain structures.
• Collaborate with lineage, data quality, architecture, integration, security, and business stakeholders to improve the discoverability and trustworthiness of enterprise data.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on implementation or engineering experience with Informatica IDMC data governance/catalog capabilities, preferably CDGC .
• Experience with metadata ingestion, catalogs, business glossaries, classifications, domains, ownership/stewardship, and governance workflows.
• Experience integrating and cataloging metadata from heterogeneous enterprise data sources.
• Ability to translate governance concepts into technical configuration and scalable platform processes.
• Strong communication skills across technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Informatica Axon and/or Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC), particularly modernization or migration to IDMC/CDGC.
• Experience with Workday , financial data, ERP modernization, or public-sector environments.
• Exposure to enterprise data lineage and Informatica Cloud Data Quality.
