Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Windows Platform Engineer to support a NAVY-Marine Corp program based in Norfolk, VA . This position is a full-time role that will be onsite . As a Windows Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability, performance, security, and scalability of mission-critical Windows Server infrastructure supporting the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet enterprise environment.
This team is responsible for the core backbone of the NAVY-Marine Corp Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, network engineering, service desk support, seat services, and data transport. This role supports enterprise Windows platforms and ensures systems remain secure, compliant, and operational in support of mission requirements.

As a Windows Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability, performance, security, and scalability of mission-critical Windows Server infrastructure supporting the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Windows Server patching and IAVA vulnerability remediation activities across enterprise environments.
- Build, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 systems.
- Support the complete infrastructure lifecycle, including planning, installation, configuration, administration, monitoring, upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Maintain Windows Server compliance with operational policies, security controls, and industry best practices.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operating system, infrastructure, patching, and application-related issues.
- Perform STIG remediation activities and support ongoing cybersecurity compliance initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams, customers, subcontractors, and vendors to support enterprise services.
- Provide technical analysis, recommendations, and implementation support for projects and operational initiatives.
- Exercise independent judgment to evaluate technical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Recommend improvements that enhance system reliability, security posture, and operational efficiency.
- Support mission-critical enterprise infrastructure within both classified and unclassified environments.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements and operational objectives.
Requirements:
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Current CompTIA Security+ certification
- Ability to work an afternoon/night shift, Tuesday through Saturday
- Strong communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- 2-5 years of relevant IT experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience administering and troubleshooting Windows Server environments
- Experience with Windows Server patching and IAVA vulnerability mitigation
- Experience building and maintaining Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 systems
- Knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and remediation practices
- Experience supporting Windows platforms in large-scale enterprise environments
- Additional certifications related to Windows administration, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, or infrastructure operations
Compensation Includes:
- Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000 (depending on experience)
