AWS Cloud Systems Engineer - SECRET Clearance Location: Remote (DMV preferred); Hybrid onsite as needed (Hanscom AFB, MA or Huntsville, AL) Contract: 6 Months | $90-$98/hr W2 About the Role Join a mission-critical program supporting the U.S. Air Force Cloud One Architecture and Common Shared Services (ACSS) contract. As an AWS Cloud Systems Engineer, you will engineer and optimize cloud-native solutions in a multi-cloud environment. Responsibilities - Architect, develop, deploy, and sustain robust AWS cloud solutions focused on scalability, security, and reliability - Perform AWS operations, troubleshooting, and performance optimization to ensure superior cloud user experience - Lead adoption of DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and automation to streamline deployments and operations - Design and implement secure cloud architectures using zero-trust and defense-in-depth strategies - Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS) - Manage cloud networking security, identity and access controls, and security monitoring frameworks - Facilitate customer onboarding and support seamless cloud adoption and migration strategies - Assess legacy systems, drive modernization using containerization and microservices - Develop and maintain CI/CD workflows and automation using Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, and Guacamole - Configure and troubleshoot cloud, virtual, and physical hardware/software environments Required Skills and Experience - Active SECRET clearance - Bachelor's degree - 12+ years' experience in systems/cloud engineering - IAT-2 certification and at least one cloud certification - Deep expertise with AWS cloud services, networking, and security controls - Strong hands-on experience with automation, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code - Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance - Demonstrated success in architecting secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions Preferred Skills - Experience with Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle Cloud platforms - Familiarity with containerization and microservices - Knowledge of U.S. Air Force or Department of Defense environments - Exposure to zero-trust security architectures - Hands-on with migration and modernization of legacy systems Benefits - Work remotely with flexible onsite requirements (hybrid) - Support a mission of national importance - Collaborate with top-tier engineers and thought leaders - Enhance your expertise across multi-cloud and DevSecOps domains - Opportunities for career advancement and mentorship How to Apply Take your cloud engineering career to the next level-apply today to join a high-impact team supporting the future of Air Force cloud operations.
