Junior Systems Engineer

Precise Systems is seeking a motivated Junior Systems Engineer to provide systems engineering and technical support to our customer, supporting Naval Aviation Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and related aircraft and mission-system efforts. The successful candidate will work as part of an integrated government/contractor team and support systems engineering activities throughout the acquisition and sustainment lifecycle. This position provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience supporting Department of Defense acquisition programs, systems engineering processes, technical documentation, requirements management, configuration management, and integrated product team (IPT) activities.

This role requires in-person support.

Duties:

• Provide systems engineering support to PMA-207 program and IPT personnel.
• Assist with the development, review, and maintenance of systems engineering documentation, technical reports, and program deliverables.
• Support requirements development, decomposition, traceability, verification, and validation activities.
• Assist with the analysis and evaluation of aircraft systems, subsystems, and associated equipment.
• Support technical reviews, IPT meetings, engineering working groups, and program management reviews.
• Assist with configuration management and engineering change activities.
• Support the development and maintenance of technical baselines and related program documentation.
• Assist with tracking and resolving engineering actions, risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Support the review of engineering data, specifications, interface documentation, and technical requirements.
• Assist with test planning, test documentation, and evaluation activities as required.
• Support Foreign Military Sales activities by coordinating technical information and engineering requirements across government, contractor, and customer organizations.
• Assist in preparing briefings, meeting materials, status reports, and other technical communications.
• Coordinate with engineers, logistics personnel, program analysts, government stakeholders, and other contractor organizations to support program objectives.
• Perform technical research and analysis to support program decisions and engineering recommendations.
• Participate in continuous improvement of systems engineering processes and program execution.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Required Experience:

• 0-3 years of professional engineering or technical experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work in a government/contractor environment and interact professionally with government personnel and industry partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting Department of Defense or Navy acquisition programs.
• Familiarity with systems engineering processes and lifecycle methodologies.
• Familiarity with requirements management, configuration management, risk management, or technical baseline development.
• Experience with engineering documentation and technical data.
• Familiarity with DoD 5000-series acquisition processes and/or MIL-STD-881, MIL-STD-961, or IEEE 15288.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, DOORS, Cameo, or other requirements/configuration management systems.
• Previous experience supporting Naval Aviation or Foreign Military Sales programs.
• Familiarity with aircraft systems or the KC-130J/C-130J platform is a plus.
• Active DoD security clearance.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $56,035.20-$80,000.00 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems' total compensation package.
