We are hiring a Quality Engineer in Slidell, LA, to lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), process development, quality assurance, and continuous improvement for new product development and manufacturing programs. This role supports APQP deliverables including Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, product validation testing, supplier quality, and process improvement within a highly regulated manufacturing environment using AS9145, AS9100D, IATF 16949, and ISO 9001 quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the APQP development process for assigned programs, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, and related APQP deliverables.
• Manage quality assurance activities associated with new product introduction in accordance with company policies and established quality requirements.
• Develop, mature, measure, and monitor end-to-end business processes supporting product development, engineering services, and manufacturing.
• Identify process issues and improvement opportunities, analyze performance, and implement structured process changes to support continuous improvement.
• Oversee product manufacturing activities to ensure engineering documentation is consistent with the manufacturing methods employed.
• Coordinate and chair APQP meetings, maintain APQP checklists, and document and track open issues through the APQP action item matrix.
• Serve as the quality lead during customer program reviews throughout the product development process.
• Develop test methods and procedures supporting product validation activities.
• Perform performance validation testing against customer specifications and generate associated test reports.
• Develop and implement programs to assess and improve the quality of products, components, materials, manufacturing processes, and operations.
• Perform inspections and establish quality assurance testing models for raw materials, work-in-process materials, and finished products.
• Conduct quality control (QC) inspections throughout production to verify products, materials, components, and parts meet established quality and reliability standards.
• Integrate feedback from design, R&D, production, and other cross-functional teams into quality and continuous improvement activities.
• Coordinate with outside suppliers and manufacturing facilities to complete, review, and approve supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions.
• Provide onsite supplier support for program activities and critical quality issues when required.
• Support the development, testing, and modification of prototype and production parts.
• Direct suppliers in establishing appropriate testing procedures, recording required data, calibrating test equipment, and establishing technical measurement procedures.
• Lead the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives.
• Develop and document new business processes supporting the Quality System.
• Support manufacturing activities at partner and supplier facilities.
• Support and comply with all company safety and environmental regulations and policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Quality leadership.

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
• Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration; alternatively, a high school diploma with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience.
• 5+ years of leadership, supervisory, or managerial experience.
• Knowledge and experience working with AS9100D, IATF 16949, and ISO 9001 quality management standards.
• Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and AS9145 requirements.
• Experience with APQP quality deliverables, including PFD, PFMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP.
• Knowledge of systems-based design and related standards and processes.
• Expertise with statistical analysis tools and process capability analysis.
• Experience applying structured root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, 5 Why, and Ishikawa/Fishbone analysis.
• Demonstrated knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies with experience implementing process improvements.
• Experience developing test methods, performing product validation testing, and documenting test results.
• Experience with quality, engineering, and supply chain management within a highly regulated industry.
• Experience working within multinational, multi-organizational, and corporate environments.
• Familiarity with U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) processes and procedures for vehicle development and acquisition.
• Ability to present quality, program, and technical information to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to operate independently in a hands-on manufacturing and quality engineering environment.
• Ability to support manufacturing partners and suppliers, including onsite supplier activities when required
