Position Title: Aircraft Mechanic II (Avionics) – MH-60R/S

Clearance: Secret clearance required
Schedule: Monday–Friday, day shift 0630–1500 or night shift 1430–2300
Pay: $48.95 per hour, plus $15.00 per hour in health and welfare benefits. A cash-in-lieu option is available with proof of insurance.

POSITION OVERVIEW
STi is seeking one Aircraft Mechanic II (Avionics) to support MH-60R/S aircraft at Station SAR Key West under the Commander Naval Air Forces Atlantic (CNAL) organizational-level maintenance contract. The mechanic will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance with an emphasis on avionics and electrical systems, while supporting inspections, troubleshooting, flight line operations, and accurate maintenance documentation.
The ideal candidate has hands-on MH-60R/S maintenance experience, can interpret NAVAIR technical publications, and can prioritize work to meet the squadron’s flight schedule. This position may occasionally lead other mechanics through complex maintenance tasks and inspect work performed by Mechanic I and Mechanic II personnel.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include:
Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and modify MH-60R/S avionics and electrical systems within assigned qualifications and applicable technical guidance.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled organizational-level maintenance, including aircraft inspections and corrective maintenance.
Diagnose moderate to complex equipment problems using technical manuals, wiring information, maintenance procedures, and appropriate test equipment.
Support aircraft launch and recovery, preflight and postflight activities, aircraft movement, and other flight line functions as assigned.
Perform Daily/Turnaround, Conditional, Phase, and Special Inspections in accordance with applicable Maintenance Requirement Cards and NAVAIR technical manuals.
Document maintenance actions accurately in aircraft logs, records, forms, and applicable electronic systems.
Check aircraft and work areas for tools, foreign objects, and other hazards that could affect aircraft or aircrew safety.
Coordinate with Maintenance Control, Quality Assurance, and Government personnel to complete maintenance and support required inspections.
Follow applicable Naval Aviation Maintenance Program requirements, including tool control, FOD prevention, electrostatic discharge protection, technical directive compliance, and maintenance safety procedures.
Prioritize assigned work to support maintenance schedules and flight operations; lead teams on more complex tasks when required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Secret clearance required.
Aircraft maintenance experience sufficient to perform Aircraft Mechanic II duties, with a specialization in avionics or electrical systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems using technical publications, maintenance manuals, and appropriate test equipment.
Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance documentation, inspections, tool control, and flight line safety practices.
Ability to prioritize workload, follow maintenance schedules, and work effectively with other mechanics and maintenance leadership.
Ability to complete applicable site qualifications within required timeframes, including assigned support equipment and airfield safety qualifications within 60 days. Role-dependent qualifications may include Plane Captain and Collateral Duty Inspector within 120 days, and Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative and Safe for Flight within 180 days, as applicable to assigned duties.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Direct maintenance experience on MH-60R and/or MH-60S aircraft.
Prior U.S. Navy organizational-level aviation maintenance experience.
Experience supporting a search and rescue squadron or comparable operational flight schedule.
Familiarity with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program and NAVAIR technical publications.
Experience leading maintenance tasks or inspecting the work of other aircraft mechanics.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed on site at NAS Key West, FL, supporting Station SAR Key West.
The position supports either the day shift (0630–1500) or night shift (1430–2300), Monday through Friday, based on staffing needs.
Work includes aircraft maintenance and flight line activities in an operational aviation environment.
Tools are provided.
