Job Description
Aspen Consulting Group (ACG) is seeking a full-time Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) Engineer to work remotely on both government and commercial R&D efforts. The successful candidate will have experience in electrical harness design with emphasis on routing and installation in rotary wing aircraft.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or related sciences with 7+ years of experience OR 10+ years of experience working in a related field.
• Experience in 3D/2D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, etc.
• Knowledge of SAE AS50881.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD/DoW Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in wire harness design and installation on DoD/DoW or commercial aircraft.
• Familiar with Blackhawk helicopter platforms and/or systems
• Experience with 3D scanning and working with 3D models in SolidWorks derived from 3D scanning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collect, process and analyze wire harness data and measurements. This includes wire type, wire length, connector/backshell type, EMI requirements, power/thermal rise considerations, RF considerations, installation methods, routing procedures, harness clamp locations, and harness clamp stack design.
• Create and maintain 3D models of aircraft sections with harness routings
• Derive 2D drawing sheets and schematics from models with detailed views and installation notes.
