Software Engineer, Mid

Overview

The Software Engineer, Mid will be responsible for supporting all aspects of full stack development, including addressing enhancements, resolving system issues, and implementing performance improvements. The engineer will work through all phases of the application lifecycle, from requirement gathering and development to production support. This role also involves creating solution architecture for new initiatives, building new applications from scratch, upgrading legacy systems to the latest versions, and addressing performance bottlenecks.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with system owners to gather, analyze, document, and refine functional requirements for system enhancements and updates.
• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve system issues to ensure continuous availability and reliability.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks, including system monitoring, debugging, and patching.
• Upgrade the existing application to the latest versions to ensure security, compliance, and optimal performance.
• Design, develop, and deploy new full stack .NET-based web applications and solutions to meet stakeholder requirements.
• Create scalable and secure solution architectures for new projects.
• Develop and optimize both front-end and back-end application components, ensuring high-performance and efficient functionality.
• Build and implement user-friendly interfaces using Telerik tools combined with JavaScript for compelling front-end experiences.
• Utilize C# and .NET Framework to create robust, backend systems for data processing.
• Perform database design, development, and optimization using Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL).
• Actively engage with government and contractor stakeholders to define project objectives and ensure successful delivery.
• Work in cross-functional teams within an Agile development methodology (if applicable).
• Document technical solutions, processes, and integrations for team knowledge-sharing and system continuity.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
• A minimum of 5+ years experience working with .NET development and full stack applications.
• C# programming expertise.
• Proficient understanding of the .NET Framework.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and its integration within front-end development ecosystems.
• Skilled in Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) for database design and management.
• Experience with Telerik tools for UI component development.
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance is required.
• Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills Required:

• Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with diverse technical teams.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in dynamic project environments.
• Ability to interpret technical requirements, identify gaps, and coordinate with specialized teams to resolve them.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Atlassian tool suite (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket).
• Knowledge of and experience working in Agile development methodologies.
