Software Engineer, Senior

This role is fully on-site and does not allow any hybrid/remote work. Candidates must possess an active Top Secret clearance to be considered.

The Software Engineer, Senior will lead the rapid development of enterprise-grade solutions in an AI-assisted development environment. Ideal candidates are adept at leveraging advanced AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude, Amazon Q Developer) to expedite delivery, while applying strict human oversight to ensure secure, high-quality, and maintainable code. Responsibilities

• Write, review, and refactor robust and scalable Java (Spring Boot) back-end code.
• Develop and maintain dynamic, user-friendly front-end applications using Angular 21.
• Utilize AI tools to:
  • Generate boilerplate code.
  • Write comprehensive unit tests.
  • Accelerate application modernization efforts.
• Ensure AI-generated code adheres to enterprise standards for security, AWS cloud architecture, and PostgreSQL database protocols.
• Conduct manual code reviews to verify quality and correctness of AI-generated outputs.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize application components to prevent issues associated with poor abstractions or integration failures.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, DevOps engineers, and QA teams, to deliver enterprise-grade solutions on tight timelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 4+ years of hands-on development in Java (Spring Boot).
• 4+ years of experience with Angular (version 17 or higher).
• 3+ years of expertise with PostgreSQL database systems.
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance is required.
• Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills Required:

• Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with diverse technical teams.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in dynamic project environments.
• Ability to interpret technical requirements, identify gaps, and coordinate with specialized teams to resolve them.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Atlassian tool suite (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket).
• Knowledge of and experience working in Agile development methodologies.
