What you'll do

We are seeking an energetic Secure Enterprise Training Manager to join the government Secure Network Systems team. This person will lead the development and execution of technical training programs supporting enterprise cybersecurity systems, secure infrastructure, and government compliance requirements. This role will serve as the lead training manager and training architect that will work with the BD, Sales, Support teams to deliver training for both internal and external customers.

The day-to-day

You will leverage industry-standard development tools to produce a high-quality training capability that includes Computer Based Training (CBT), Train the Trainer and course curriculum for certified training packages. This candidate will also have the opportunity to develop their own team. In this role, you will:

• Effectively lead multiple training projects simultaneously
• Navigate environments to implement the principals of Instructional Design
• Collaborate with in-house experts from various operation teams to detail, validate, and reference technical information and standard methodologies
• Travel to deliver training sessions for customer and vendor installation and maintenance personnel
• Design and develop training courses applying effective methodologies to organize the content and flow of information
• Work within the team environment smoothly and efficiently to contribute to the overall success of the team in deliverables and customer satisfaction
• Establish and maintain solid working relationships with internal resources, channel partners and third-party vendors to ensure curriculum requirements are met and maintained.
• Connect with and support the Viasat Support Teams and Sales to understand trending issues, resolutions and process improvements to integrate and update training content and delivery
• Ensure that training staff maintain and develop their skills as technology and product offerings evolve

What you'll need

• 6+ years' technical experience in a with broad range understanding of networking, network design and integration, networking equipment, technologies our products use both logical and physical
• 4+ years' experience as an instructional trainer
• Proficiency in delivering classroom and OJT including the ability to interact and communicate well with diverse work groups while retaining control of the learning environment and outcome
• Demonstrable experience in developing course designs, course materials, student resource materials, educational aids and similar educational materials
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Ability to work closely with internal subject matter experts to capture and document information and processes.
• Experience developing eLearning programs that are SCORM/AICC (Claro, Lectora, Articulate, Captivate)
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant technical field or equivalent experience
• US Government position. US Citizenship required
• Active DoD Secret Clearance
• Ability to travel up to 25% percent both CONUS and OCONUS

What will help you on the job

• 2+ years' experience as a training manager with supervision of direct reports
• Knowledge and understanding of LMS's and LCMS's
• Demonstrated knowledge of COMSEC handling requirements and familiarity with government requirements
• Proven communication skills with internal colleagues and external clients, managing expectations, setting boundaries, and deliverables
• Ability to collaborate with Sales / BD / Solutions Architects to identify training opportunities and ensure the sales team knows the scope and restrictions of the available training
• Exceptional attention to detail in delivery as well as in creating and proof reading materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines
• Validated ability to develop, use, and follow curriculum guides
• Demonstrated ability to read, create and translate networking diagrams

Salary range

$140,500.00 - $221,500.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $174,000.00- $261,000.00/ annually
