Production Control Clerk

Position Overview

Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedules. Duties include reviewing and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules; conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems. (Note: Excludes "Weighers, Measurers, Checkers, and Samplers, Recordkeeping".)

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to production schedules.
• Review and distribute production, work, and shipment schedules.
• Confer with department supervisors to determine the progress of work and completion dates.
• Compile reports on the progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.
• Perform inventory, staging, packing, storage, and shipping of electronic equipment and related material.
• Operate motor vehicles and material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Utilize computer-based inventory and bar-coding systems for data entry, identification, and tracking of materials.

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; vocational training commensurate with the Department of Labor functional description.
• At least two (2) years of relevant warehouse experience, including inventory, staging, packing, storage, and shipping of electronic equipment and related material.
• Demonstrated experience operating motor vehicles and material handling equipment.
• Proficiency in utilizing computer-based inventory and bar-coding systems for entry, identification, and tracking of material.
• Adequate experience successfully performing the duties of the labor category as described in the Department of Labor functional description.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
