The Work

Lockheed Martin's Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full-time Software Engineer for our Platform Services team. In this role, you will:

• Support multiple Mission Integrated Command & Control (MIC2) Line of Business (LOB) programs.
• Perform software and systems development tasks (design, code, test, integration) for a full spectrum of Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions.
• Develop new applications and integrate COTS and GOTS software to construct a complete solution.
• Travel between LM sites as well as customer sites.

Basic Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Information Systems
• Understanding of systems analysis, design, requirements development, integration and test methodologies
• Understanding of higher-level programming languages, such as Java, C++
• Understanding of scripting languages, such as bash, python.
• Ability to develop test scripts (bash, csh, python) and software test drivers (C/C++ and Java) to exercise middleware service test procedures.
• Ability to identify and isolate system defects during integration and test activities.
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security clearance.
• Candidate must be able to support periodic travel.

Desired Skills

• Understanding of cloud concepts: virtualization technologies, IaaS, PaaS, and cloud delivery models.
• Understanding of cloud security policies.
• Experience in designing and provisioning PaaS Infrastructure that includes service mesh, orchestration, storage, discovery and messaging.
• Experience migrating large, monolithic applications to microservices/containerized services, running on the PaaS.
• Experience with DevSecOps software development platforms and configuration management, such as GitLab.
• Experience with IT automation technologies used in managing and provisioning infrastructure and applications, such as Ansible.
• Experience with test diagnostics tools, such as software debuggers, message injectors, hardware and network analyzers and simulators.
• Experience with software test automation.

Pay Information

• $75000.00 - $142760.00

• For (Washington state applicants only) Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
