The Strategic Division (SD) supports high-reliability organizations including Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, and the Department of Energy (DOE), among others. Our support across our client base is expanding rapidly and encompasses important services, such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, cost estimating, earned value management, program management, system engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention.
SPA's Strategic Division's Strategic Development Group (SDG) supports critical U.S. government programs providing Systems Engineering support, Systems Safety support and Financial Analysis support. SDG is hiring for a Systems Engineer in Washington Navy Yard.
Responsibilities
The Systems Engineer will provide technical and programmatic engineering support to the TRIDENT II missile program within SSP. Specifically, the Systems Engineer will provide support to the government team within Missile Branch responsible for D5LE2 Program Management. Responsibilities include coordinating with subsystem owners to develop, integrate, and validate budget inputs; assessing contract scope, technical deliverables, funding requirements, and schedule impacts; maintaining risk, opportunity, and mitigation tracking; managing Government-Furnished Information (GFI) requirements, delivery status, and associated dependencies; monitoring integrated program schedules and critical-path activities; and preparing concise briefings, decision packages, status reports, and action-item trackers for program leadership.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to work full-time, 5 days a week, at the Washington Navy Yard.
- U.S. citizen with DoD TOP SECRET clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET clearance while employed with SPA.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technical field.
- 3+ years professional experience in an technical position.
- Exceptional writing and presentation abilities.
- Self-motivated with strong work ethic, time management, and interpersonal skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Submarine Officer experience.
- Experience supporting Strategic Systems Programs.
- Experience with defense acquisition processes.
