Support the development and integration of advanced radar systems by applying systems engineering, radar signal processing, requirements analysis, mathematical modeling, and mission engineering expertise. This role will contribute to radar algorithm development, system performance analysis, operational capability assessment, and real-time system integration supporting complex defense missions.
A Day in the Life - What you'll do

• Support the development and integration of radar algorithms to meet system mission and operational mode performance objectives.
  
• Analyze and translate system requirements into algorithm designs, implementation plans, and technical solutions.
  
• Perform functional and performance analyses to evaluate radar system behavior and operational effectiveness.
  
• Develop mathematical algorithms supporting radar modes and sensor implementation.
  
• Develop software integration plans for system algorithms that model radar system behavior in real-time environments.
  
• Apply Systems Engineering lifecycle processes across requirements development, design, implementation, integration, verification, and validation activities.
  
• Perform radar signal processing and system performance analysis using appropriate engineering tools and methodologies.
  
• Analyze radar operational performance using Blake Charts and other engineering analysis techniques.
  
• Develop MATLAB-based engineering models, prototypes, and analytical solutions supporting radar system development.
  
• Perform mission engineering activities through the Systems Engineering "V" to maintain continuity between desired operational capabilities and delivered system performance.
  
• Evaluate new and emerging system architectures by assessing performance, cost, mission requirements, and operational effectiveness in representative environments.
  
• Support technology and system trade studies to evaluate alternative approaches and identify solutions aligned with mission objectives.
  
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to resolve complex technical and system performance issues.
  
• Solicit technical input from stakeholders, synthesize engineering data, and communicate results and recommendations to engineers, program leadership, and customers.
  
• Develop and maintain requirements documentation, engineering analyses, technical artifacts, and system development products.
  
• Guide development and implementation activities by helping engineering teams translate system requirements into executable technical solutions.
  
• Participate in technical reviews, planning activities, and customer-focused engineering discussions.
  
• Independently plan, organize, and execute technical assignments while maintaining a strong customer and mission focus.
  
• Level 4 engineers will provide increased technical leadership, guide development and implementation activities, and support complex mission engineering, system performance, and technical decision-making.

Required Qualifications
Level 3

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related experience; OR
  
• Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience; OR
  
• PhD in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related experience.

Level 4

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related experience; OR
  
• Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related experience; OR
  
• PhD in a STEM discipline and 4 years of related experience.

All Levels

• Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance, current and within scope, at time of application, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.
  
• Experience working through the Systems Engineering lifecycle for system development.
  
• Experience with signal processing.
  
• Experience with radar systems.
  
• Experience with radar Blake Charts for operational performance analysis.
  
• Expertise with MATLAB and engineering code prototyping.
  
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop solutions to complex technical challenges.
  
• Demonstrated ability to independently plan, organize, and execute technical assignments.
  
• Ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams with a customer-focused approach.
  
• Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to synthesize technical information and communicate results to various levels of leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira and Confluence.
  
• Experience with SharePoint.
  
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  
• Experience with Python, C/C++, Java, or related programming languages.
  
• Experience working in Agile environments, including Kanban or Scrum.
  
• Experience with requirements derivation and decomposition for system design, implementation, and planning.
  
• Experience developing radar or sensor mathematical models and algorithms.
  
• Experience with radar mission engineering, operational analysis, or system performance assessment.
  
• Experience supporting technology trade studies and evaluation of emerging radar capabilities.
  
• Experience integrating software algorithms into real-time radar or mission systems.
  
• Experience working with multidisciplinary Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  
• Experience supporting customer-facing technical reviews, briefings, and engineering decision-making.
