Systems Administrator (Quantico, VA)

Abacus Technology is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Administrator to join our team in Quantico, VA. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology projects while providing critical support to our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Implement and manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and other directory services.
• Monitor system performance and availability, and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including firewalls, switches, and routers.
• Provide technical support to end users, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
• Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure seamless integration of systems and services.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices to ensure the security and efficiency of our systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role.
• Extensive knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and other directory services.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Clearance Requirements:
This position requires an active Secret clearance. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
