Shop Foreman

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Shop Foreman to join our vehicle sustainment team in Djibouti, Africa. The selected candidate will provide maintenance and logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors, including disassembling and overhauling engines, transmissions, clutches, rear ends, and other assemblies.

• Performs preventive maintenance on assigned vehicles (e.g., oil changes, greasing, and inspection of hoses, belts, fluids, and wiring), replaces worn or broken parts, aligns wheels, adjusts brakes, tightens bearings, tunes engines, and performs minor body work.

• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures and guidelines, impacting the quality of own and team's work, and holds appropriate certification as may be required by law.

• Requires expanded conceptual knowledge and experience in own area while continuing to acquire higher-level skills and build knowledge of the company, processes, and customers.

• Solves a range of standard and straightforward problems by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures, experience, judgment, and precedents.

• Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.

• Understands key business drivers and uses this understanding to accomplish own work.

• Holds no supervisory responsibilities but explains information to others in straightforward situations and may provide guidance to new associates.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4+ years of qualified maintenance experience and a BA/BS degree OR 10+ years of qualified maintenance experience.

• Proven maintenance, repair and technical experience and background in industrial manufacturing, commercial maintenance or military operations or maintenance.

• Qualified mechanical experience includes one or more of the following: light or heavy-duty trucks, tractors, tactical vehicles, aviation ground support systems, generators, power plants, aircraft or any diesel or gasoline powered equipment or vehicle.

• Demonstrated experience in providing formal, over the shoulder, and on the spot training to contractor and unit personnel.

• Proven communicator in verbal and written disciplines to include basic computer skills and document preparation.

• Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening; ability to meet the government deployment physical requirements if needed.

• Must possess a Valid Driver's License for the location in which the work will be performed as well as a High School Diploma or GED.

• Must possess a Passport and driver's license with at least 2 years of validity remaining.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to operate forklifts.

• Ability to drive vehicles with a manual transmission.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must be a US Citizen and have a current/active Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneel.

• Must be able to push, pull, and reach.

• Must be able to work in high noise areas.

• Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts.

• Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard.
