Civil Engineer - Structural emphasis or Structural Engineer (PE required)
Long-Term Navy Training Project
Location: Orlando, FL or Dallastown, PA
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Structural Engineer to support a long-term Navy training project. The team is developing a large-scale propulsion plant simulator that recreates the equipment and engineering spaces sailors will use aboard a vessel. The project is currently in design, manufacturing, and integration, with installation planned in Charleston, South Carolina.
Responsibilities
Design and analyze large steel mechanical structures.
Review structural designs to support fabrication, assembly, and integration.
Work with engineering and manufacturing teams through final build.
Take responsibility for structural engineering deliverables, including final design sign-off.
Required qualifications
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license with a structural engineering emphasis in state of South Carolina or PE reciprocity eligable.
Experience designing and analyzing large steel mechanical structures.
MUST have experience signing off on final structural designs.
Preferred qualifications
10 or more years of structural engineering experience.
Experience with shipboard, power plant, propulsion plant, or similar mechanical structures.
Experience with RISA structural analysis software.
Experience supporting defense contractors or projects at defense installations.
