About This Role
We're seeking a Storage Systems Engineer to provide monitoring and patching support for the Sponsor's enterprise hosting and storage services in Herndon, VA. The Sponsor delivers efficient, scalable hosting and storage to customers across the enterprise, and this role keeps that infrastructure healthy through hardware maintenance, hardware troubleshooting, and day-to-day operations and maintenance (O&M). You'll work hands-on with Storage Area Networks built on Hitachi arrays and Cisco MDS fabrics, manage zoning and host groups, verify redundant paths between servers and storage, and partner with the ISSE to address security concerns. The work may be performed independently or within a team, so we're looking for someone who can own a problem from alert to resolution without close oversight.
Compensation
$160,000 - $220,000 (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities
Monitor the health and performance of enterprise SAN, storage, and virtualization infrastructure
Apply patches and firmware updates to storage arrays, SAN switches, and supporting systems
Work with the ISSE to identify, track, and remediate security concerns
Configure and maintain SAN zoning and host groups
Perform hardware maintenance and troubleshooting on Hitachi storage arrays
Install, configure, and maintain Hitachi HiCommand management software
Build and manage Cisco Fibre Channel SAN fabrics and inter-switch links (ISLs) using Cisco DCNM and MDS 9000 series hardware
Verify and maintain dual active paths between all servers and storage arrays
Support Brocade, NetApp, and VMware components of the hosting environment
Coordinate with Mission Partners to identify and troubleshoot physical IT infrastructure issues
Track changes and incidents through the Sponsor's ticketing system
Support hardware lifecycle activities, including equipment refresh and disposal
Requirements
Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph
Demonstrated experience with Storage Area Networks (SAN), including zoning and host groups
Demonstrated experience with Hitachi storage
Demonstrated experience with Cisco switches
Demonstrated experience with Brocade and/or NetApp storage (EMC storage experience is translatable)
Demonstrated experience monitoring, patching, and working with an ISSE to address security concerns
Demonstrated experience installing and configuring Hitachi HiCommand software
Demonstrated experience performing Hitachi array hardware maintenance
Demonstrated experience as a Cisco Fibre Channel SAN administrator
Demonstrated experience creating Cisco SAN fabrics and setting up and managing Cisco ISLs
Demonstrated experience with Cisco DCNM software and MDS 9000 series hardware
Demonstrated ability to determine and identify dual active paths to and from all servers and storage arrays
Demonstrated experience working independently
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience with VMware
Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor's IT equipment disposal procedures
Demonstrated experience with systems lifecycles
Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor's multiple internal networks
Demonstrated experience with and understanding of the Sponsor's data center operations
Demonstrated experience working with Mission Partners to identify and troubleshoot physical IT infrastructure issues
Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor's ticketing system for change and incident management
Relevant certifications such as Cisco (CCNA/CCNP Data Center), Hitachi Vantara, NetApp, or VMware
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
