Software Project Manager- Software

We are seeking an experienced Software Program Manager to lead the coordination and execution of software activities across a complex technical program. This position will work closely with engineering leadership, program management, customers, and external partners to keep software development efforts aligned with program objectives, schedules, and delivery commitments.

Key Responsibilities

Own and communicate the integrated software development schedule, milestones, and overall execution status.

Provide software program updates to technical leadership and the broader program team.
Build and maintain software release, build, and delivery plans.
Coordinate activities and delivery schedules with software subcontractors and external development partners.
Serve as the primary program interface for software subcontract management.
Track subcontractor execution, deliverables, schedule performance, and technical commitments.
Support the preparation and development of Statements of Work (SOWs).
Participate in technical reviews and evaluations of proposals and supplier responses.
Coordinate software metrics, program reviews, and recurring delivery reporting.
Present software progress, risks, metrics, and upcoming milestones during program-level technical reviews.
Participate as a key member of the program leadership team.

Interface directly with the customer on software program activities, priorities, and status.
Lead and coordinate Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities and support change-management decisions.

Desired

Strong candidates will have experience managing software-intensive engineering programs, coordinating cross-functional technical teams, working with subcontractors, and communicating software schedule, risk, metrics, and delivery status to both customers and senior program leadership.

Experience within DoD, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated technical environments is a strong plus.
