Job Summary

Aurex is seeking an experienced Senior Facility Security Officer (FSO) to serve as a senior advisor and subject-matter expert supporting classified operations and sensitive corporate programs. This position will coordinate and execute day-to-day industrial security functions, provide guidance and mentorship to security personnel, and advise company leadership on federal, customer, and program security requirements.

The Senior FSO will support the implementation and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and program objectives across classified environments. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience supporting possessing facilities under DCSA oversight, advanced knowledge of industrial security requirements, and the ability to effectively navigate personnel, physical, information, and communications security requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Industrial Security and Classified Operations

• Support company leadership in developing, implementing, and maintaining security programs and procedures for classified and sensitive materials, information, and operations.


• Interpret and apply federal industrial security requirements and coordinate rulings, clarifications, and acceptable deviations with government agencies as required.


• Assist in developing, revising, and maintaining Security Standard Practices and Procedures (SPP), program manuals, and related security guidance.


• Execute operational security functions across classified and sensitive environments in accordance with NISP, DoD, Intelligence Community, and customer requirements.


• Provide senior-level guidance regarding security matters affecting program execution, risk, schedules, and customer obligations.


• Coordinate the safeguarding, handling, transmission, and destruction of classified information in accordance with 32 CFR Part 117 and applicable federal requirements.


• Support secure facility operations, including access control, restricted-area compliance, and protection of classified hardware, technical data, and controlled technologies.


• Support preparation for DCSA assessments, customer reviews, government inspections, self-inspections, and associated corrective actions.

Personnel, Physical and Information Security

• Coordinate personnel security activities, including clearance actions, reinvestigations, visit requests, foreign travel reporting, and SEAD 3 requirements.


• Conduct security indoctrinations and debriefings for personnel requiring access to classified information.


• Support investigations of security incidents and prepare required documentation, reports, and recommended corrective actions.


• Support physical security requirements for possessing-facility operations, including access control, visitor management, alarms, and intrusion detection.


• Assist with physical security surveys, self-inspections, and corrective action planning.


• Coordinate with IT and Cybersecurity personnel to ensure information system security requirements are understood and supported for classified and sensitive programs.


• Provide guidance regarding secure communications, media protection, and system access controls associated with classified operations.

COMSEC

• Serve as a senior operational resource for Communications Security (COMSEC) activities, providing expertise and guidance to ensure proper handling, safeguarding, and compliance with NSA and DoD requirements.


• Support COMSEC audits, accountability, inventory, tracking, and program reporting in accordance with applicable federal requirements.

Training, Mentorship and Stakeholder Support

• Develop and deliver security education, training, and awareness materials, including annual refresher training, OPSEC, COMSEC support materials, and role-specific instruction.


• Provide day-to-day mentorship, technical guidance, and support to security personnel.


• Ensure security training activities meet applicable compliance requirements and promote a proactive security culture.


• Collaborate with HR, IT, Facilities, Manufacturing, Engineering, Compliance, Program Management, and other business functions to support integrated and compliant security operations.


• Represent the security function during program meetings, customer interactions, and internal coordination activities when designated by company leadership.


• Support leadership with emerging security requirements, policy updates, investigations, program improvements, and changes to federal security requirements.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of industrial security experience supporting classified programs under DCSA oversight.


• Bachelor\'s degree; (experience in lieu of degree may be considered)


• Demonstrated experience performing Senior FSO or Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) responsibilities within a possessing-facility environment.


• Active Top Secret security clearance.


• Advanced operational experience supporting COMSEC programs within DoD or Intelligence Community environments.


• Strong knowledge of NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), SEAD requirements, DoD Manuals, Intelligence Community Directives, OPSEC, PERSEC, PHYSEC, and INFOSEC principles.


• Experience using DISS, NBIS, NISS, SIMS, ACCS, SWFT, and related personnel security or incident management systems.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to advise company leadership on security requirements, risks, and compliance matters.


• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to mentor and support other security professionals.


• Ability to work independently, manage multiple concurrent priorities, and maintain accuracy and compliance in a fast-paced environment.


• Ability to travel domestically to company locations up to 10%.


• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform prolonged periods of walking, standing, and desk work.

Preferred Qualifications

• SCI eligibility.


• Completion of the CDSE FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities curriculum.

How You Will Be Rewarded

The salary range for this role is $115,000 - $140,000 annually.
