Social Worker

Duties

• Conducts intake evaluations and psycho-diagnostic assessments.
• Conducts comprehensive evaluations to address complex (interrelated biopsychoscocial) diagnostic and treatment issues.
• Prepares written evaluation reports with clinical impressions and recommendations.
• Accomplishes clinical intake interviews with patients, to include family history, biopsychosocial history, developmental history, and presenting problems together with any relevant secondary information.
• Provides a wide range of therapeutic measures that are geared toward securing cognitive and mental adjustments by recognizing and resolving problems relating to the patient's attitudes toward themselves, family, and associates.
• Rotates with other providers to see acute/walk-in patients; covers on-call duties after clinic hours; and provides consultation for emergent and urgent mental health and family maltreatment cases.

• This position is designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work .
• This position is subject to TDY or business travel requirements to various locations. This may require travel via privately owned vehicles, commercial transport platforms, and/or military aircraft, ships, and vehicles.
• This position requires a pre-employment physical and annually thereafter.
• This position is designated Tier 3, Non-Critical Sensitive, Moderate Risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Level as a condition of employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required must have and maintain a valid, unrestricted license to practice as an independent - level, clinical social worker.

Basic Requirement for Social Worker

Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Social Work.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages

License: Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S Virgin Islands. Must have practiced as an independent licensed clinical social worker within past two years.
