GPS Distribution Field Representative, Senior

Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

Travel Requirements: 20%

SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for a GPS Distribution Field Representative, Senior to provide U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard Fleet Support, including the operation, maintenance, and repair of the Navigation Sensor System Interface (NAVSSI), Global Positioning System (GPS)-Based Positioning, Navigation, and Timing Service (GPNTS) systems, and associated ancillary equipment. This position will also provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior NAVSSI technicians.

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform Pre-Deployment Grooms (PDAs), system operations, system software loads, system configuration updates, system troubleshooting, system testing, and System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT).


• Compile data and prepare reports documenting findings, deficiencies, and recommendations for identified shipboard issues and the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA).


• Troubleshoot, test, and repair GPNTS and NAVSSI equipment and circuit cards.


• Provide detailed reports for each component.


• Develop, review, and provide GPNTS and NAVSSI system subject matter expertise in support of updates to Allowance Parts Lists (APLs), technical manuals, training curricula, MIPs, MRCs, and various test procedures.


• Develop, review, and provide Daily Status Reports (DSRs) and Weekly Status Reports (WSRs). Report issues within 24 hours of occurrence.


• Attend shipboard daily status meetings with a focus on documenting and reporting accomplishments and issues.


• Attend weekly and monthly program OIPT meetings with a focus on lessons learned, risks, accomplishments, and process improvements.

Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

• Technical training in U.S. Navy navigation equipment and systems.


• Eight (8)+ years of hands-on experience with U.S. Navy navigation equipment and systems, including experience in at least three (3) of the following four (4) areas:

• Recognized subject matter expert with demonstrated industry and/or public service leadership in U.S. Navy navigation equipment and systems.


• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite at an intermediate level or higher, with an emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.


• Experience with Microsoft Project is desirable.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Position Salary Range: $72,000 - $108,000. The listed salary range represents the typical range for this position. WR bases the offered salary on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, knowledge, and skills, scope and responsibilities of the position, and market and business considerations.
