AEGIS DEVELOPMENT LEAD ENGINEER
International Systems Management Corp. (ISM) is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time position to provide systems engineering support to the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems AEGIS Integrated Combat System, PEO IWS 1.0. This position, the AEGIS Development Lead Engineer, will support PEO IWS 1.0 on AEGIS Development and Integration projects associated with AEGIS Modernization, New Construction and Backfit of the AEGIS Combat System.
The AEGIS Development Engineer will:
• Manage all aspects of a team of 19 Engineers supporting PEO IWS 1.0 AEGIS Development Branch, ensuring deliverables meet or exceed quality expectations and deadlines
• Work closely with PEO IWS 1AD Principal Assistant Program Manager to manage AEGIS Baseline development efforts and ensure alignment with PEO IWS 1.0 Major Program Manager priorities. Advise, facilitate decisions and ensure tasking is executed across Baseline teams
• Manage development of key products used across PEO IWS to include O-6 and O-7 level briefings
• Develop technical briefings and white papers, as required, to articulate courses of action, challenges, risks and program status
• Manage all aspects of financial planning and execution ensuring Baseline funding requirements are accounted and clearly defined. Identify shortfalls and articulate schedule / technical impact to the Baseline
• Develop Program Objective Memorandum (POM) issue papers and brief OPNAV Sponsor on opportunities and funding gaps
• Coordinate within PEO IWS 1.0 organization to identify and track future capability candidates for integration into AEGIS
• Facilitate IWS 1AD coordination across all stakeholders including government and industry partners
Required experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Math or Science Discipline
• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in engineering projects
• DoD security clearance or ability to obtain DoD security clearance
• Experience Leading / Managing a team of Engineers
◦ Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
◦ Ability to mentor team to improve quality of products
◦ Ability to set and maintain standards within the organization
• Excellent communication and prioritization skills
◦ Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively
◦ Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
◦ Ability to develop senior level briefs
◦ Ability to analyze and provide recommendations in an effective manner
• Experience supporting a PEO IWS Acquisition Program Office
• Experience with MS Office and MS Teams, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint and NEPS
Desired experience:
• AEGIS Combat System baseline management, certification, and testing, including modeling and simulation capabilities
• Management of Advanced Concepts and Technology Insertion
• Support to the US Navy Technical Review Process
• Maintaining and operating AEGIS Combat System configurations
• OPNAV Sponsor interactions and POM processes
• Missile Defense Agency products and integration plans
The ideal candidate is dynamic and proactive in meeting customer needs and has the ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate activities across numerous organizations. The position will be located in Washington, DC and will require travel approximately less than 20% of the time.
