Position Description Summary:
The Senior Systems Administrator will provide on-site systems administration, operations, maintenance, sustainment, cybersecurity, and technical support for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Weapon Support Center–Richmond Electronic Marquee System and its Daktronics Venus Control Suite (VCS). The position is responsible for maintaining stable and secure system operations, installing and configuring software, performing upgrades and patching, troubleshooting system and connectivity issues, supporting vulnerability management and Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements, and maintaining compliance with applicable DLA and DoD cybersecurity standards. The Government estimates approximately 860–960 hours of support per year, with work performed at the DLA facility in Richmond, Virginia.
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize system software, applications, network software, and associated communications
• Provide on-site operations, maintenance, sustainment, upgrades, and troubleshooting for the Daktronics Venus Control Suite and electronic marquee systems
• Maintain current vendor software and perform approved software upgrades, security patches, and configuration/policy changes
• Analyze and resolve software, system, and connectivity issues and provide system configuration and upgrade recommendations
• Perform system and resource optimization, capacity and performance analysis, and end-user support
• Develop and maintain system administration procedures and provide user/system administrator training as required
• Perform vulnerability management and remediate identified vulnerabilities
• Implement and maintain compliance with applicable DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Requirements Guides (SRGs)
• Support vulnerability scanning and remediation activities, including ACAS, SCAP, WebInspect, and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) activities
• Support DLA RMF cybersecurity requirements, security control implementation, assessments, documentation, and authorization activities
• Develop and maintain required technical documentation, including system diagrams, hardware/software inventories, CONOPS, PPSM documentation, FIPS 199 categorization, STIG/SRG checklists, and RMF documentation
• Coordinate troubleshooting and technical activities with the DLA Site COR, J6 COR, ISSE, ISSM, and other Government stakeholders
• Respond to reported system issues and coordinate on-site diagnostics in accordance with required response times
• Provide knowledge transfer and technical documentation sufficient to support continued DLA operational continuity
Skills & Experience:
• Minimum 10 years of specialized Information Processing/IT experience
• Progressive experience across multiple information processing disciplines involving a range of hardware and software solutions
• Minimum 4 years of concentrated, hands-on experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting software
• Strong systems administration experience supporting operational systems, applications, software upgrades, patching, and system configuration
• Experience troubleshooting end-user software, application, network, and connectivity issues
• Experience conducting capacity/performance analysis and recommending system configuration or technology improvements
• Experience with vulnerability management, security patching, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening
• Working knowledge of DISA STIGs/SRGs, RMF, POA&Ms, NIST security controls, and DoD cybersecurity requirements
• Experience supporting or documenting cybersecurity assessments and system authorization activities
• Ability to provide both local and remote technical maintenance support, although the Government clarified that performance for this requirement is on-site and Government-site labor rates should be used
• Ability to work independently, coordinate effectively with Government technical and program personnel, and produce accurate technical documentation
• Must possess applicable DoD 8570/8140 security and industry competency certifications prior to beginning work and maintain required certifications throughout performance
• Must possess the appropriate operating system certification for systems on which privileged System Administrator duties are performed
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a technical discipline with at least 10 years of specialized experience in Information Processing/Information Technology
Security Clearance Required:
• Secret Clearance / Tier 3 (T3) investigation
