QSSHire is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support the development and delivery of production-ready data pipelines, AI/ML solutions, and web applications within the Sponsor’s OpenLake environment.
This role will work closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Application Developers, Data Management Coordinators, and other technical stakeholders to develop scalable solutions that address mission requirements. You’ll leverage OpenLake, AWS, modern data engineering technologies, AI/ML models, and web development frameworks while supporting cloud infrastructure, security, and system accreditation requirements.
In This Role, You’ll:
• Develop and deploy production-ready data pipelines and web applications on OpenLake.
• Develop AI/ML solutions designed to address key intelligence questions.
• Build resilient data engineering and ETL pipelines using technologies such as Trino, Iceberg, SQL, PostgreSQL, Spark, Neo4j, Elasticsearch, and Apache Hive.
• Develop robust web applications using modern technologies and frameworks such as React, Node.js, and JavaScript.
• Leverage AWS for automation, application deployment, infrastructure, and resource management.
• Utilize GPUs to support accelerated computing and AI/ML workloads.
• Develop scalable, reusable deliverables rather than one-off solutions.
• Work closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Application Developers, and Data Management Coordinators to implement technical requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise in AI/ML, web application development, ETL, and data engineering.
• Develop and maintain system accreditation and security-related documentation.
• Ensure technical development and content comply with Sponsor security policies and regulations.
• Use Confluence and JIRA to define, document, and track requirements.
• Maintain application and infrastructure code in GitHub for Sponsor accessibility.
• Maintain cloud infrastructure and system accreditation associated with OpenLake and production applications.
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with Sponsor priorities.
You’ll Succeed Here If You Have:
• Demonstrated experience working on OpenLake.
• Experience navigating, developing, and deploying production-ready data pipelines and web applications on OpenLake.
• Experience developing AI/ML solutions that address key intelligence questions.
• Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, Neo4j, Kibana, JavaScript, Trino, Apache Hive, and related Apache technologies.
• Experience leveraging AWS for automation, application deployment, and resource management.
• Experience leveraging GPUs for accelerated computing.
• Experience working with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Application Developers.
• Experience managing and developing system accreditation and security-related documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience developing scalable, production-ready solutions.
Desired Skills:
• AWS certification(s).
• Experience with Sponsor Assessment & Authorization (A&A) processes.
• Experience working with a variety of Sponsor data systems and data sources.
• Knowledge of Sponsor Data Management principles and workflows.
• Experience working closely with Sponsor technical teams to implement requirements based on Sponsor priorities.
• Experience leveraging the Sponsor’s OpenLake environment and advanced AI/ML models.
• Experience providing technical guidance to technical teams on an ad-hoc basis.
• Subject matter expertise in AI/ML, web application development, ETL, or related technologies.
Degree Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
• Relevant professional software development, data engineering, AI/ML, or technical experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, subject to contract requirements.
