Standard Job Description

In this role the selected candidate will be a key teammember of the Grand Prairie EMI Laboratory supporting a variety of programs including Electro Optical targeting and navigation systems, ground and air launched missiles, communications and controls systems by :

  • Supporting/reviewing/defining EMI aspects of product development.
  • Helping develop requirements, work implementation designs, and supporting EMI testing of products to MIL-STD461 and MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-1275 and other standards.
  • Performing integration testing of electrical subsystems and their functionality.
  • Helping develop customized harnesses and fixtures for EMI/EMC and power quality tests.
  • Leveraging data analysis and existing tools to reproduce and characterize failures.
  • Helping drive analysis of failures and define path to compliance at the subsystem-level and system-level.
  • Overseeing Lab 6S as well as caretaking of lab capital equipment, tracking calibrations, performing audits and other day to day lab operations.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related fields
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • General understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance
  • Familiarity with electronics test equipment such as power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscope, function generators, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, data acquisition and measurement sensors.
  • Familiarity with environmental testing such as MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-1275 and design analysis and test methods for Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)
  • Strong root cause analysis skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and communication skills to support role as key interface on all matters related to EMI with program and customer.
  • Ability to travel to and work at remote sites to support external business units or supplier's EMI testing.
  • Ability to obtain Secret security clearance.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to become forklift certified.
  • Ability to perform hoist/crane operations.


Desired Skills

  • 1+ years of relevant industry experience with emphasis on EMI/EMC, hardware validation, and integration testing.
  • Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related field preferred
  • Familiarity with TILE or similar software for test execution and automation.
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC Test Equipment such as spectrum analyzers, antennas, LISNs, NF Probes, Anechoic and Reverb Chamber etc. As well as a good working knowledge of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Operation in high level RF fields, Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP), Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), Lightning, and Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Ordnance (HERO) is a plus.


Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $81100.00 - $150500.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
