Overview:
By Light is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Lead Cyber Range Architect II to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining advanced cyber ranges that simulate real-world threats and vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer network architecture, cybersecurity, and a passion for cutting-edge technology.

Responsibilities:

• Design and architect complex cyber ranges that mimic actual network environments and threat landscapes.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity experts, developers, and stakeholders to define requirements and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Implement robust network solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of cyber ranges to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
• Stay current with emerging cyber threats, technologies, and industry best practices.
• Mentor and guide junior architects and developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Document design specifications, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in computer network architecture and cybersecurity.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing complex network infrastructures.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and other networking protocols.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and other security tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in high-pressure environments.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud-based cybersecurity solutions and services.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications in cybersecurity.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CCNP, or CEH.
