We are seeking a talented Chemist to join the R&D team at a privately held, family-owned health and wellness company that manufactures and distributes high-quality dietary supplements based on scientific research.
Job Title: Chemist I
Location : Mission Viejo, CA
Schedule : M-F, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Pay Rate : $27-$32/hr. DOE

Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) from four-year college or university, and minimum of one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Duty
- Preparation of reagent solutions for physical, chemical and microbiological testing.
- Performs various chemical, physical and microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process materials or finished products for stability and product development activities.
- Verifies the accuracy and completeness of testing and paperwork related to finished products.
- Maintains Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) at company under supervision.
- Records information necessary for GMP or thorough related investigation of testing assigned.
- Performs any other necessary job duties as assigned by Management.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) from four-year college or university, and minimum of one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Skill or Education
- Fundamentals of chemical reagent preparation for chemical or microbiological testing.
- Fundamentals of knowledge of basic analytical instrumentation within the R&D laboratory to include, but not limited to: Analytical balances, pH meters, autopipettes, volumetric glassware, autoclaves, etc.
- Working knowledge of the principles of HPLC instrumentation, software, troubleshooting and handling of analytical data is a plus.
- Ability to be trained for aseptic technique as applied to testing probiotic viability.
- Ability to perform job responsibilities under minimal supervision.
- Ability to neatly and accurately record and report analytical data.
