We are looking for a Information Assurance Hardware Design Engineer in Annapolis Junction, MD. Seeking Level 1-4 engineers.
The IA Hardware Design Engineer designs and tests integrated circuits and hardware components for a wide variety of
signal processing applications and research. Designs, documents, and develops code (to include firmware) for digital signal processors or other programmable hardware devices such as Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) hardware. Designs, tests, simulates, and verifies new integrated circuits or hardware components. Provides detailed engineering reports, datasheets, test plans, and any other engineering documents needed to describe the hardware design. Document the design process.

We are looking for a Information Assurance Hardware Design Engineer in Annapolis Junction, MD. Seeking Level 1-4 engineers.

Responsibilities:
- Levels 1-4
- Assist with designing new products and processes and improving and maintaining existing products
- Communicate with the other engineering personnel to coordinate the interrelated design and assure project completion
- Conduct design analysis on components and assemblies to assist in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, able to be manufactured, and reliable
- Apply ASIC or FPGA place and route (P&R) tools with various libraries to create physical implementations of designs
- Develop and maintain documentation for the P&R design flows
- Assist with de-processing electronic components and retrieving stored firmware or software
- Design new products and processes and improving and maintaining existing products
- Work with tool and library vendors to develop solutions for designers' P&R design challenges
- Integrate new P&R tools, P&R tool updates, and ASIC or FPGA design libraries into Government's computer aided design environment, documents the use of those tools and libraries, and Assist other physical designers to successfully complete their specific P&R design tasks
- Lead the designs of new products and processes and improve and maintain existing products
- Provide technical leadership to less experienced engineers
- Perform Security Verification Testing and Certification to meet Type I Information Assurance Certification standards
- Levels 3-4:
- Produce security evaluation documentation to support new ASIC and FPGA designs
- Review Very High Speed Integrated Circuit (VHSIC) Hardware Description Language (VHDL) code and provide security recommendations
- Perform full scan to test an ASIC and FPGA
- Evaluate, review, and test security code
- Level 4:
- Direct and check the work of other hardware design engineers
Requirements:
- Level 1:
- One (1) year of experience as a HDE in integrated circuit or microelectronic component design is required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university is required
- Four (4) years of additional hardware design engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
- Level 2:
- Six (6) years of experience as a HDE in integrated circuit or microelectronic component design is required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university is required
- Four (4) years of additional hardware design engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
- Level 3:
- Twelve (12) years of experience as a HDE in integrated circuit or microelectronic component design is required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university is required
- Five (5) years of additional hardware design engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
- Level 4:
- Fifteen (15) years of experience as a HDE in integrated circuit or microelectronic component design is required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university is required
- Four (4) years of additional hardware design engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
- A Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science may be substituted for two (2) years of experience
- A PhD in Engineering or Computer Science may be substituted for four (4) years of experience
- US citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required
