Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and SQL
- Build, optimize, and manage scalable data models, data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse environments using technologies such as Databricks
- Ingest, clean, validate, transform, and integrate large-scale datasets from various sources including APIs, relational databases, flat files, and unstructured data
- Design data schemas and models that support analytics, reporting, and data science initiatives
- Implement data quality, metadata management, governance, and security controls to ensure trustworthy data
- Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to deploy and manage data solutions within Microsoft Azure
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines for performance and reliability using logging, alerting, and CI/CD practices
- Partner with data scientists and analysts to develop data structures supporting evolving analytical requirements
- Document architecture, pipeline logic, data flows, and procedures for maintainability
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or related technical roles
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Python and SQL, including developing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
- 2+ years of experience working with cloud data ecosystems such as Azure Data Factory
- 1+ years of experience with modern data processing and lakehouse technologies like Databricks
- Strong knowledge of data integration from diverse sources and formats
- Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and architecture
- Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance principles
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal government or regulated environments
- Prior experience with CDC data environments
- Cloud or data engineering certifications, such as Microsoft Azure certifications
Compensation
Salary Range: $150,000.00 - $165,000.00
Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.
