Jr Data Engineer
Remote
Blu Omega is seeking a Data Engineer to support mission-critical analytics initiatives by building, optimizing, and maintaining cloud-based data pipelines, platforms, and data stores. This role is responsible for designing scalable ETL/ELT workflows, structuring data storage solutions, and ensuring reliable ingestion and transformation of structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.

Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver structured and unstructured data from cloud-based sources.
- Build and optimize data storage solutions, including data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouses, supporting analytics and business intelligence workloads.
- Perform backend SQL and NoSQL testing, including data validation, post-deployment testing, and troubleshooting of ingestion, transformation, and schema issues.
- Collaborate with analysts, engineers, developers, and stakeholders to translate business and data requirements into technical models, workflows, and pipeline specifications.
- Develop scripts and automation to transform diverse data types into standardized, analysis-ready formats.
- Support the operation, monitoring, and scaling of cloud-based data platforms and data processing workflows.
- Help ensure data quality, reliability, and consistency throughout the pipeline lifecycle.
- Leverage generative AI coding tools to accelerate development, troubleshooting, and automation activities.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience supporting data warehouse development or data engineering initiatives.
- Experience analyzing and processing aggregated data from multiple sources in cloud-based environments.
- Experience developing and maintaining scalable data stores supporting large-scale analytics.
- Strong experience with SQL and Python for data retrieval, parsing, transformation, and processing.
- Experience developing scalable ETL or ELT workflows using cloud-based technologies.
- Experience using Cloudera, Hadoop, or similar distributed data processing technologies.
- Ability to perform backend SQL and NoSQL database testing, including post-deployment validation and data quality testing.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination.
Compensation
Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00
