Business Analyst

Hybrid 2 in office 3 days remote in Washington, DC

Our client seeks a Business Analyst to support a federal asset forfeiture program and the Consolidated Asset Tracking System. The analyst will gather and document technical and functional requirements, prepare specification documents and wireframes, and collaborate with developers, testers, operations, and stakeholders. The role requires clear written and verbal communication, client-facing engagement, and the ability to operate within a hybrid of waterfall and agile practices.

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident with an active Public Trust clearance. This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $35.00 to $40.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

• Investigate, analyze, and resolve problems in selected functional areas.
• Gather, assess, and evaluate client application requirements.
• Perform needs analysis and define requirements for targeted functional areas.
• Analyze, design, implement, and maintain client solutions and environments.
• Contribute to portions of larger projects, including data development, analysis, draft communications, and client interaction.
• Develop specialization depth in a relevant domain.
• Coordinate with developers, testers, operations, engineers, and clients.
• Write technical documentation, requirements, analysis sheets, and presentation materials.
• Conduct application demonstrations and deliver solutions training.
• Author specifications for solutions and enhancements, including suggested database design changes.
• Execute database queries to troubleshoot issues.
• Prepare developers with detailed specifications to support coding efforts.
• Set up wireframes and support add-on features.

Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and 7 years of experience in technical requirements analysis or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to document detailed functional and technical software requirements and obtain stakeholder consensus.
• Experience with applications support and SDLC.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Attention to detail, customer service orientation, strong oral and written communication, and problem-solving competencies.
• Ability to operate in a hybrid methodology environment.
• Public Trust eligibility and ability to complete required background investigation.
• Familiarity with SQL, Jira, HTML, and Balsamiq wireframing is a plus.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
